Batala villagers allege sacrilege bid at Gurdwara, probe on
After a sacrilege bid at the Golden Temple in Amritsar and Kapurthala's Gurdwara, a similar incident was reported from a Gurdwara at Batala in the wee hours of Monday.
However, it was not clear whether the Batala incident was aimed at sacrilege or stealing the offerings (golak) money, the chief of the local gurdwara committee in Kotli Bhan Singh village said.

Batala Senior Superintendent of Police, Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, said that the locks of the main hall of Gurdwara in Kotli Bhan Singh village were broken.

As per the information, three men were involved in this. One of them was near the wall and another went inside. Reportedly, they came at 00:54 am and left at 1:07 am.
Meanwhile, the police issued an advisory to local gurdwaras committees to put someone on duty to prevent such incidents.

Earlier on Saturday, a man was beaten to death by angry devotees after he allegedly attempted to commit sacrilege at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the police said.
Likewise, a man was beaten to death, on Sunday, for allegedly trying to desecrate Nishan Sahib in Gurdwara Sahib in Kapurthala's Nizampur.
