A 30-year-old youth died of alleged drug overdose at Narayan Nagar in Batala.

The deceased has been identified as Karanbir Singh of Jalandhar district. The body of the deceased was found in his room. The family members took him to civil hospital in Batala , where he was declared brought dead.

The police said a preliminary investigation revealed that it was a case of drug overdose death.

According to father of the deceased Karanbir had been taking drugs for several years.

The post-mortem examination of the deceased will be performed on Monday morning.
