Rajiv Gandhi on target in PU now; sign board with his name smeared by unknown persons
The process of smearing black paint on Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s statue and names is continuing. A group of angry people smeared black paint on the signage board of Rajiv Gandhi College building in Punjabi University around midnight.
This incident came a day after a ‘Rajiv Gandhi’ signboard in Delhi was defaced. Two days ago, some angry people allegedly vandalised and defaced a statue of Rajiv Gandhi at a public park in Ludhiana. They also demanded that the Bharat Ratna conferred on him be taken back.
This incident happened at the time when the Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal was due to inaugurate the 34th North Zonal Youth Festival in the city to inaugurate the university.
