Date for filing applications regarding pension on higher wages extended, check details
New Delhi, May 2: Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made plans to collect applications for the validation of option from pensioners in accordance with the Supreme Court order dated November 4, 2022.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, an online facility has been made accessible to help with this procedure. To date, over 12 lakh applications have been received.
The online service was only supposed to be available until May 3, 2023. Meanwhile, numerous requests for extensions of time have been received from various quarters.
The problem has been addressed, and it has been determined that the deadline for filing applications will now be extended until June 26, 2023, in order to provide a broader window of opportunity and allow all eligible individuals to file their applications, according to a Ministry statement.
The timeline is being extended to facilitate, providing ample opportunity to the pensioners so as to ease out any difficulty being faced by them. The decision was made after sympathetically considering the various demands from employees, employers and their associations, added the statement.
