An ice-skater from Canada risked his own life to rescue a family of deer from a frozen lake in Ontario. Ryan Peterson is earning praise for rescuing the stranded deers from a frozen lake. Ryan was out for a leisurely skating session. He was on in the middle of a lunch break when he spotted a family of dear stucked on thin ice.
The deers were sitting dangerously on the ice bed which could have cracked at any moment. Peterson get into an action but realised the ice was too thin to carry the vehicle. He skated them all to the spot and rescue the animals with a rope. Without thinking about the danger, Peterson skated across the frozen lake and managed to tie ropes around the family.
Watch it here:
A mother and her two fawns were stranded on the frozen lake. Meanwhile, Peterson recorded the whole scene in a camera. In a video, the deers can be seen trying really hard to get up onto their feet. Eventually, Peterson managed to drag all of them across to safety.
Peterson said, “I went back to work and took some rope. The ice was very thin for a vehicle, so skating was the only option left.” He added that “The two fauns got up but the mother seemed to have an injury on her leg or hip.” Meanwhile, Peterson called the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources but no help was sent immediately.
