SAD leader Sarabjit Singh Makkar and wife Upinderjit Kaur were injured as their SUV rammed into a truck on the highway between Phagwara and Goraya on Tuesday morning. His gunman Kuldip Singh and Makkar’s friend Sukhdev Singh Aujla suffered injuries. The driver of the SUV, which was on its way to Jalandhar, was also injured. The accident occurred as the driver reportedly dozed off and lost control over the vehicle. The truck driver fled the spot. SHO City Bharat Masih rushed to the spot and brought the injured to Gandhi Hospital here. Doctor Satnam Singh Parmar said Makkar and wife suffered multiple fractures. The injured were later shifted to a private hospital in Jalandhar. Police have registered a case. -PTC News
