Forecasters warn that the heatwave could intensify, with temperatures expected to rise further in Bengal and Odisha amid hot and humid conditions.

Soma Sen Roy, a senior scientist at IMD, stated to ANI, "Severe heatwave conditions persist in Odisha, particularly in North Odisha, prompting a red alert for this area."
