Chandigarh minor raped for months, attacked with acid
In a shocking incident a rape victim, who was on her way to the court for hearing on the case was attacked with acid by 2 unidentified men on Monday morning.
The victim was on her way to the court when the accused held her and threw acid on her face. The girl was immediately provided with first aid and was rushed to a sector 16 hospital.
As per reports, the attackers had covered their faces and were riding on their bikes when they came to attack the victim.
As per the victim, the men were stalking her and as soon as they felt no one was watching, they threw acid on victim’s face. Both the attackers fled from the spot after the incident.
The cops have now begun an investigation in the case.
The 17-year-old girl was lured into relationship with a promise of marriage by a boy from Kashmir who would then visit her for months and rape her here in Chandigarh. His family members also raped her later in 2017 after which she broke her silence and reported the matter to the Chandigarh police.
But sadly she has been struggling for over a year to get justice in the case.
Upon filing a complaint almost a year after she went through torture, sexual abuse and gang rape, she started getting threats in the form of letters and phone calls from the accused minor from Kashmir.
Earlier, the accused threatened to upload her obscene pictures on the Internet and kill her too to make sure that she doesn't take any action against him.
The two met on Facebook in 2016.
As per information, the boy from Kashmir repeatedly raped her from November 29, 2016 to January 1 2017. The boy later asked her to visit Srinagar so they could get married where his family members raped her.
He also converted her to a Muslim at a mosque in Sector 45 Chandigarh in 2016.
The girl has been fighting for justice since a year now, and nothing has come out in her favor. Not even the Chandigarh police has stood up in her support.
'I registered the complaint twice at a police station in Chandigarh and also spoke to the SSP but nobody heard my plight,' the victim said. 'I don't trust the police anymore and I will only submit the proofs in the court,' she added speaking to PTC News on Sunday.
