Chandigarh murder case: Man axes wife to death in Manimajra, arrested

Chandigarh murder case: After Manimajra triple murder case, another crime has rocked the town when a man killed his wife in the early hours on Tuesday. The incident took place at Mariwala town. The accused has been identified as Jarnail Singh who killed his wife Manjit Kaur with an axe. An FIR under section 302 of the IPC has been registered on the complaint of Sajjan Singh against Jarnail Singh. The complainant stated that Jarnail Singh was living with his wife Manjeet Kaur along with daughter Sneha and son Sukhpreet Singh. The accused Jarnail Singh was alcoholic and due to this he often scuffled with his wife Manjeet Kaur. Manjeet was domestic servant and the only bread earner for her children. On Tuesday, his niece Sneha came out from her house with loudly voice, after which Sajjan ran into the house of accused Jarnail Singh and he saw that his accused carry the Axe in his hand and assaulting his wife with the Axe. After seeing him, he ran away from the spot, after that there neighbour Sonia Choudhary called police. Upron receiving information, the police reached the spot and rushed the injured lady to PGI, where doctor declared Manjeet Kaur dead. https://www.facebook.com/ptcnewsonline/videos/135766100880681/?t=1 During the course of investigation, accused Jarnail Singh was arrested on Thursday. The accused was being produced in Hon’ble court to obtain 2 days police remand for further interrogation in present case. Earlier, a man murdered his wife and two kids at Modern Housing Complex, in Manimajra. Recently, a woman killed her two-and-a-half-year-old son by stuffing a glove in his mouth at a house in Burail, Sector 45, on January 26. The accused woman has been identified as Roopa. During the preliminary investigation, the police observed that Roopa had also killed her 6-month-old daughter in December. The probe also revealed that the victim had died after her neck bone was broken. -PTC News
