Chandigarh, September 7: In order to attract more investments and boost the state's industrial growth, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday approved the organisation of the Punjab Investment Summit in February 2023.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann presided over a meeting of Invest Punjab, the state government's investment promotion agency and envisioned that the summit would significantly contribute to the state's overall industrial development and help it enter a high growth trajectory.
He also asked Invest Punjab to make optimal use of this healthy platform to represent Punjab as the preferred investment destination among domestic and global investors. Bhagwant Mann remarked that elaborate plans will be made for making this major event a huge success.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of placing the state as one of the top investment destinations in both India and the world. He envisioned that this summit will work as a catalyst to emerge state as a hub of industry.
Bhagwant Mann also instructed Invest Punjab to plan roadshows and promotion outreach programmes in all major Indian cities and other countries so that potential investors could be invited to the summit and the benefits of the state could be highlighted there.
The Punjab CM further underlined the strengthening of the unified regulator and single window system of Punjab to assist the investors. He said that it is a matter of great pride and gratification that during the current government regime the state has roped in investment worth Rs 21,000 Crore in the last five months. CM Bhagwant Mann asserted that this investment will open new vistas of employment for around 93,000 youth across the state.
