Harvard professor labels coconut oil as poisonous! Is it really a ‘pure poison’? Harvard Professor calling Coconut Oil a ‘pure poison’ has gripped the entire country and major discussions are being held on this. Harvard professor Karin Michels (an epidemiologist at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health) in her recent lecture in German titled 'Coconut oil and other nutritional errors' has labeled Coconut oil as 'one of the worst things you can eat' and 'pure poison'. In her lecture, she further stated that Consuming Coconut Oil has high portion of saturated fat which increases Bad cholesterol i.e. LDL cholesterol. With the consumption of this, it enhances the risk of cardiovascular disease. A doctor at Harvard School of Public Health, Walter C Willett stated 'coconut oil is not all bad' as it boosts good cholesterol (HDL) in the Harvard Health letter. After these two statements, we can say that there are two sides of a coin. Coconut oil has natural saturated fats that increase the levels of good cholesterol in the body and also, it can also turn into a less harmful form of bad cholesterol. Coconut oil is full of nutritional values and that is why, it why it is applied on Skin and hair as it is an amazing moisturizer and protect skin and hair from any damage.  The fatty acids in the coconut oil help in killing harmful viruses, bacteria, fungi and other viruses from preventing them from any infections.
