'Congress is violating Code of Conduct in Shahkot by- poll,' Daljit Cheema writes to EC

Senior Vice President & Spokesman, Shiromani Akali Dal Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema on Thursday wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner and The Chief Electoral Officer subjecting to the transfer of Mr. Tarsem Singh Tehsildar Mukerian (Hoshiarpur) to Jalandhar and his subsequent joining violating Model Code of Conduct.
Here's what the letter said - I want to bring to your kind notice that the State Govt. of Punjab led by Congress Party is brazenly violating Model Code of Conduct in the 32-Shahkot bye- poll. On 8th May, 2018 Mr. Tarsem Singh who was working as Tehsildar at Mukerian (Hoshiarpur) was transferred to Jalandhar-1 sub division as Sub-Registrar vide order No.3/2/18- îÁ-A(A)/13443 . Although Model Code of Conduct is in place in the whole Jalandhar District but still he was allowed to join his new place as posting by the district administration of Jalandhar who are supposed to implement the Model Code of Conduct . It may be mentioned that the same Tehsildar has earlier worked at Shahkot Sub-Division for long time and favour has been extended to him to use his service during election campaign to benefit the Congress party candidate. I am also enclosing the press clipping of the above said officer where he is taking charge on 9th May, 2018. In addition the transfer orders issued by the revenue department of state government are also being enclosed. Kindly take a strict action as per the law to ensure free and fair election. -PTC News
