Coronavirus: India reports 48,698 new cases, 1,183 deaths in 24 hours
Coronavirus India Updates: India on Saturday reported 48,698 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours while the active caseload has declined to 5,95,565, less than 6 lakhs after 86 days.
According to the coronavirus updates given by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 48,698 new COVID-19 cases, 64,818 recoveries, and 1,183 deaths in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 3,01,83,143 while the total recoveries have gone up to 2,91,93,085 while the death toll has reached 3,94,493. The active cases stood at 5,95,565.

As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 40,18,11,892 samples were tested up to June 25. Of which, 17,45,809 samples were tested on Friday.
The Union Health Ministry stated that more than 31.17 crores (31,17,01,800) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs. Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 29,71,80,733 doses as per data available at 8 am on Saturday.
The daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 44th consecutive day. The recovery rate in India increases to 96.72 percent while the weekly positivity rate remains below 5 percent, currently at 2.97 percent.
The daily positivity rate at 2.79 percent, less than 5 percent for 19 consecutive days.
