Coronavirus: Punjab breaks all records with more than 4,000 cases in 24 hours

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 2,86,816 after 4,333 new COVID-19 cases were reported in 24 hours, as of Thursday evening. With 4,333 new cases, Punjab recorded the highest single-day spike of coronavirus cases ever since the COVID-19 pandemic started in March last year. Mohali reported the highest number of coronavirus cases as the district recorded 860 new cases in 24 hours. Ludhiana reported 482 new cases, Jalandhar 399, Patiala 353, Amritsar 365, Hoshiarpur 153, Bathinda 301, and Gurdaspur 194. Likewise, Kapurthala reported 127 fresh cases while SBS Nagar reported 37, Pathankot 93, Sangrur 76, Ferozepur 127, Ropar 104, Faridkot 110, Fazilka 67, Muktsar 61, FG Sahib 54, Tarn Taran 186, Moga 66, Mansa 63 and Barnala 55. With 2478 new recoveries, Punjab's recovery tally has increased to 2,49,061. Of these, Ludhiana reported 223, Jalandhar 248, SAS Nagar 472, Patiala 311, Amritsar 185, Hoshiarpur 177, Bathinda 201, Gurdaspur 2, Kapurthala 145, SBS Nagar 37, Pathankot 84, Ferozpur 11, Ropar 120, Faridkot 51, Fazilka 33, Muktsar 28, FG Sahib 29, Tarn Taran 43, Moga 21, Mansa 25, and Barnala 32. Coronavirus cases in Punjab have increased to 2,86,816 after 4,333 new COVID-19 cases were reported in 24 hours, as of Thursday evening. Meanwhile, Punjab recorded 51 new deaths in 24 hours taking the death toll in the state to 7,722. Among new deaths, Amritsar recorded 10 new deaths, Bathinda 2, Faridkot 1, FG Sahib 2, Fazilka 1, Ferozpur 2, Gurdaspur 6, Hoshiarpur 9, Jalandhar 2, Ludhiana 6, SAS Nagar 1, Muktsar 1, Pathankot 1, Patiala 5, Sangrur 1, and Tarn Taran 1.
