Coronavirus Update: India's COVID-19 tally rises to 96,44,222

Coronavirus India Update: The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 96,44,222 after 36,011 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Sunday morning.

According to the coronavirus India update, the death toll in India increased to 1,40,182 with 482 new deaths while on the other side, the total number of active coronavirus cases in India stands at 4,03,248.

The total discharged cases increased to 91,00,792 after 41,970 new discharges were reported in the last 24 hours.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated that the total number of COVID-19 samples in India tested up to December 5 is 14,69,86,575 including 11,01,063 samples that were tested on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the government of India stated that the COVID-19 active caseload has significantly fallen to 4.03 lakh (4,03,248) on Sunday. "This is the lowest after 138 days while the total active cases were 4,02,529 on July 21," it added.

Coronavirus in Punjab

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 1,55,424 after 644 new cases were reported from the state in the last 24 hours, as of Saturday evening.

The total number of discharges has increased to 1,42,792 in the state with 671 new discharges while the death toll has increased to 4,905 with 23 new deaths.
