In a major development, the Court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Harsimranjit Singh ordered registration of an FIR against Lok Insaaf Party chief Simarjit Singh Bains, on the complaint of a 44-year-old woman. On November 16, 2020, the 44-year-old woman had moved an application to the Commissioner of Police Ludhiana seeking registration of an FIR against MLA Simarjit Singh Bains, Kamaljit Singh, Baljinder Kaur, Jasbir Kaur alias Bhabhi, Sukhchain Singh, Paramjit Singh alias Pamma, Gogi Sharma of Ludhiana. However, the Court of Judicial Magistrate Palwinder Singh did not agree with the contentions of the woman. It ordered her to lead evidence in the court. Punjab Firecracker Factory Blast: MLA Caught On Camera Heckling Punjab Officer, Charged The woman, against that order, filed the revision petition before the Court of Additional Sessions Judge Raj Kumar Garg. The court had set aside the order of the lower court with the directions to reconsider and pronounce fresh orders. After being convinced with arguments of lawyers Harish Rai Dhanda and Parminder Singh Laddi, the court, on July 7, passed orders for registering FIR and investigate the matter. -PTC News
