Covid-19: NEET PG exam 2022 postponed
New Delhi, February 4: In view of the Covid-19 situation in India, the Union Health Ministry on Friday postponed the NEET PG exam 2022 by 6-8 weeks. The exam was earlier scheduled to be held on March 12.
In an order issued, the director of health services wrote, "I am directed to say that lot of representations were being received from medical doctors regarding a request to delay NEET-PG-2022 examination date i.e. 12.03.22 as published in Information Bulletin by NBE since it is clashing with the NEET PG 2021 counselling. Also, many of the interns would not be able to participate in the PG Counselling 2022 by the month of May/2022."

"Keeping the above facts in view, the minister has taken the decision to postpone NEET PG 2022 by 6-8 weeks or suitably," the order added.
The decision comes hours before the Supreme Court hearing, on a plea regarding the postponement of the examination, which was scheduled to be held on Friday.
The plea was filed on January 25 by six MBBS students who approached the apex court as several requirements including mandatory internship etc were not fulfilled by many aspirants.
Earlier, a fake notice was also making rounds on social media claiming that the NEET PG exam 2022 has been postponed. The government also issued an advisory later debunking the misinformation.
India's total Covid-19 death toll has breached the five-lakh mark as the country logged 1,072 fresh fatalities along with 1,49,394 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Friday.
As many as 65 percent of Covid-19 vaccination beneficiaries in the 15-18 age group in the country have been administered the first dose of the vaccine.
