According to her family, her phone was switched off after July 7 when she last talked to her parents and not money had been withdrawn from her bank account for the past four months.

19-year-old Tripura girl goes missing in Delhi; phone switched off, no bank activity

PTC News Desk: A 19-year-old girl Sneha Debnath from Tripura has reportedly gone missing in Delhi under mysterious circumstances. She was a student of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Delhi University. 


According to her family, her phone was switched off after July 7 when she last talked to her parents and not money had been withdrawn from her bank account for the past four months. 

Following this, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha gave necessary instructions to the police to take immediate and appropriate action on the matter.

In a statement posted on its official social media account, the Tripura Chief Minister's Office stated, "The report of Miss Sneha Debnath, a resident of Sabroom, who has reportedly gone missing in New Delhi, has come to the notice of the Chief Minister's Office. Following this, necessary instructions have been promptly issued to the police to take immediate and appropriate action." Debnath's disappearance under mysterious circumstances in New Delhi prompted swift intervention from the Tripura Chief Minister's Office (CMO) and an intensifying search operation led by Delhi Police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

According to her family, she informed them that she will be heading towards Sarai Rohilla railway station to accompany her friend. However when her phone got unreachable after three hours, the family was informed that she did not meet Pitunia as planned. 

In a disturbing development, a cab driver traced by the family confirmed dropping Sneha near Delhi's Signature Bridge. Howeved due to poor CCTV coverage, the police have not been able to trace Sneha's activity after she got out of the cab.

The Delhi police in coordination with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have initiated the investigation and massive search operation. However, the search yielded no concrete leads.

The authorities have issued a public appeal, urging anyone with information about Sneha's whereabouts to come forward.
