Amid heavy rains in Delhi, DTC bus submerges under Minto Road Bridge
Heavy rain lashed parts of Delhi on Sunday bringing much-needed respite for Delhiites from the extreme heatwaves. The rainfall caused water-logging in several parts of the national capital. Meanwhile, there are visuals in which the DTC bus was submerged under Minto Road Bridge.
The people on-board the bus were rescued by the Fire Department personnel. Soon after the news of the bus getting stuck under the Minto Road bridge triggered a few reactions on social media.
The waterlogging occurs during the monsoon every year as the water accumulates at the same intersections and under the same flyovers every year in the national capital.
Meanwhile, the National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah said that "No Delhi monsoon is complete without a “bus stuck under Minto bridge” story. Thankfully this year is no different."

Meanwhile, a traffic alert has been issued by the Delhi Police following the waterlogging at several places including Minto Road, under Railway Bridge, GTK Depot (both carriageway), Azadpur underpass (both carriageway), Guru Nanak Chowk (JLN Marg), South Avenue Road and Pul Prahladpur Underpass on M B Road.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted more rains in the Delhi-NCR region. The IMD informed that thunderstorm with rain would occur over and adjoining areas of many places of the national capital and NCR, Noida, Gr. Noida, Hissar, Jind, Gohana, Gannaur, Panipat, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Jhajjar, Sonipat, Bagpat, Gurugram, Bulandshahar, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Nuh, Bhiwadi.
