National Film Awards 2023: Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon named best actress, Allu Arjun is best actor
National Film Awards 2023: The 69th National Film Awards were announced on Thursday in New Delhi. Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon share the Best Actress award for their roles in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi, respectively.
'Pushpa: The Rise' star Allu Arjun was named Best Actor. All three actors are receiving their first National Award.
The Best Film award went to 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'. Pankaj Tripathi, Kriti's 'Mimi' co-star, was named Best Supporting Actor, while Pallavi Joshi was named Best Supporting Actress for her part in 'The Kashmir Files', which was also named Best Film on National Integration.
'RRR' received multiple awards, including Best Popular Film. Several awards were also given to 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and 'Sardar Udham', which was awarded Best Hindi Film. 'Shershaah' was honoured by the Special Jury.
Ketan Mehta, the jury's head filmmaker, announced the feature film winners.
The winner of India's highest film honour, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, will be announced later.
President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Awards at a ceremony later this year. Suriya and Ajay Devgn shared the Best Actor award last year for their roles in 'Soorarai Pottru' and 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior', respectively.
