Only Indian to make it to ‘40 most influential women in International Film'

PTC News Desk: Television producer and director Ekta Kapoor needs no introduction. She is known for giving the audience more relatable and variety of content. She has seen how the industry has evolved with time and also how OTT has changed the dynamics. She continues to deliver hit Television shows and movies to date. Currently, she is the joint managing director and creative head of Balaji Telefilms Limited. 

Adding one more feather to her cap, Ekta Kapoor has been recently added to the list of‘40 most influential women in International Film.’

Indian TV producer makes it to International List 

As world faced a lot of disruptions from Covid-19 shutdowns, to low economy and growth and to various conflicts all across the world, but these courageous women found a way to secure the money and the partners to keep making the stories and get them out to the audiences that love them worldwide.  The list contains women from different countries including Sweden, Nigeria, Germany, and France, among others who 'run pan-national mini-studios. Lone Indian that made to the list of ‘40 most influential women in International Film,’ is one and only Ekta Kapoor. 

The label is generally responsible for several high-profile Bollywood titles each year, such as the forthcoming social comedy drama Kathal, scheduled for release May 19 on Netflix. 

Ekta Kapoor cinema journey 

Ekta started her career at the age of 17 as an intern with ad and feature filmmaker Kailash Surendranath. After facing a number of failures, her 1995 sitcom, 'Hum Paanch' was her first success in the industry.

She made her mark in the television industry with shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Kohi Apna Sa, Kaahin Kissii Roz, Kalash, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kahiin To Hoga and Kasamh Se, Bade Achhe Lagte Hai, to name a few

Ekta also launched her digital platform ALTBalaji in April 2017; recently it has completed five years and given some remarkable projects among which the latest one is 'Lock Upp'. The producer talks about how OTT has changed the entire scenario and influenced the television content.
