Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' becomes biggest Hindi opener ever; rakes in Rs 65.5 cr on opening day

Mumbai, September 8: Shah Rukh Khan's latest action thriller film, 'Jawan,' has made an explosive debut at the box office. On its opening day, the movie raked in an impressive Rs 65.50 crore in India.

Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to social media to share the exciting news, stating, "'JAWAN' IS SENSATIONAL... With this remarkable achievement, 'Jawan' now holds the title of the biggest Hindi opener film of all time, surpassing the previous record set by SRK's 'Pathaan,' which garnered Rs 55 crore on its opening day.

Directed by Atlee, the film features Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, with Deepika Padukone making a guest appearance. 'Jawan' received an overwhelmingly positive response from both audiences and critics.


Shah Rukh Khan actively promoted 'Jawan,' visiting various locations for promotional events, including Chennai and Dubai, where the film's trailer was displayed on the Burj Khalifa.

The actor also sought blessings at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Tirupati, accompanied by his daughter Suhana and manager Pooja Dadlani. Nayanthara and her husband, Vignesh Shivan, were also present at the temple.

Fans celebrated the film's release with great enthusiasm, including dhols, cake-cutting, and fireworks displays. Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude to fans on social media, promising to acknowledge their support.

The film's release saw packed theaters from early morning, with some fans gathering at Mumbai's Gaiety Galaxy theatre at 6 am for the first show. Shah Rukh Khan himself stayed awake all night to monitor fan reactions to the film.

In response to a fan page's celebratory post, Shah Rukh Khan replied, "Love you boys and girls I hope you enjoy the entertainment. Kept awake to see you go to the theatre. Big love and thanks."

Apart from 'Jawan,' Shah Rukh Khan is set to appear in director Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming film 'Dunki' alongside Taapsee Pannu, with the official release date yet to be announced.
