PTC Web Desk:  The Supreme Court on Monday permitted popular podcaster and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, to reclaim his passport to facilitate international work-related travel.

A Bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh granted the relaxation after the governments of Assam and Maharashtra confirmed the completion of investigations against Allahbadia. The court directed him to approach the Maharashtra Cyber Police Bureau to retrieve his passport.

The Bench also addressed senior advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, representing Allahbadia, assuring that his request to consolidate the multiple FIRs filed against his client into a single jurisdiction would be considered during the next hearing.

Earlier, on February 18, the Supreme Court had granted interim protection from arrest to Ranveer Allahbadia in connection with several FIRs linked to his comments made during a YouTube show. At that time, the court had instructed him to submit his passport to the investigating officer at police station nodal cyber police, Thane.

On March 3, the apex court allowed Allahbadia to resume hosting "The Ranveer Show" podcast, under the condition that the content adheres to standards of "morality and decency" and remains appropriate for audiences of all age groups.

The controversy stems from Ranveer  Allahbadia’s comments regarding parents and sex during his appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show "India’s Got Latent." His remarks led to multiple FIRs, with the Supreme Court earlier describing the comments as "vulgar" and attributing them to a "dirty mind" that brought disrepute to society.

Alongside Allahbadia and Raina, other comedians such as Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija were also named in the FIRs filed in Assam. Initially, the court had prohibited Allahbadia from broadcasting any content on his podcast that might directly or indirectly impact the ongoing cases.
