Trisha Krishnan breaks silence on rumours about quitting films and relationship with Vijay
Actor Trisha Krishnan has been making headlines recently after she was seen at a wedding reception in Chennai with actor and TVK founder Vijay. The timing of their appearance drew attention, as it came just days after Vijay’s wife, Sangeeta Sornalingam, reportedly filed for divorce.
Amid all the speculation, Trisha took to Instagram to address fresh rumours claiming that she is planning to retire from films. Several reports suggested that she had stopped signing new projects. Reacting to these claims, she wrote on her Instagram story,
"Apparently I've quit films, married a rich businessman and I'm raising quadruplets who turned two yesterday! Anything else I should add or did we cover today's fiction quota?"
The rumours around Trisha’s personal and professional life have intensified in recent weeks. After videos of her and Vijay attending the Chennai wedding went viral, Vijay indirectly addressed rumours about cheating and divorce during a TVK rally ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections. Meanwhile, Trisha also responded strongly to actor R. Parthiban, who had commented on the situation.
Speculation about her quitting films also grew after one of her earlier Instagram posts, where she wrote, “Love is not everything, and yet everything is meaningless without love,” calling it a ‘fact’. This, along with past rumours from October 2025 about her allegedly marrying a businessman from Chandigarh, added fuel to the gossip. At that time, she had dismissed such claims with another sarcastic remark: “I love when people plan my life for me. Just waiting for them to plan the honeymoon too.”
On the work front, Trisha was last seen in 2025 films like Identity, Vidaamuyarchi, Good Bad Ugly, and Thug Life. She also has upcoming projects including Karuppu, Vishwambhara, and Ram. Despite her active film career, much of the recent attention has been focused on her alleged relationship with Vijay.
Reports earlier this year claimed that Sangeeta had filed for divorce, accusing Vijay of being involved with an unnamed actress. In March, Trisha and Vijay were seen wearing matching outfits at a wedding in Chennai. However, both have not publicly commented on the nature of their relationship.
