While Sridevi was dressed in her favourite red and golden Kanjeevaram saree for the last journey, a lot of people were not happy about Sridevi’s mortal remains being draped in national flag because she was not a martyr.

I don’t understand that why they wrapped Sridevi in TRICOLOR, that honour is for our realife heroes who sacrificed their lives for us.
She was only an actress. I dont want to hurt anyone, its my point of view. I respect her but she should not b wrapped in TRICOLOR. pic.twitter.com/3PU1pJ41de

The question gripped Indians and caused an outrage on the social media, but as a matter of fact the Maharashtra government decided to give Sridevi full state honours during her last journey.
Sridevi was honoured with Padma Shri in 2013 and was among the greatest personalities of Indian Cinema ever. Hence it was the decision of state government itself to give her a legendary farewell and not the family’s personal choice.
