Farmers should be given production subsidy on the pattern of investment subsidy given to industry - Sukhbir Badal   Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today said production subsidy should be given to farmers on the pattern of investment subsidy given to the industry, even as he demanded registration of a case under section 420 IPC for cheating and forgery against chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh. Stating that the SAD would work to get this concept introduced, Mr Badal said this was essential to help farmers and ensure adequate income to them. “Farmers have no control over inputs like fertiliser and pesticides but their output is fixed as per government norms. This creates a dichotomy which should be addressed by granted them an annual subsidy”, he added. This amounts to cheating and a case under Section 420 IPC should be registered against him”.  He said a similar affidavit had also been given to youth promising them smartphones which promise also had not been fulfilled till now. Mr Badal said Capt Amarinder should also decide whether he represented Punjabis as their chief minister or the Gandhi family. “People want to know this”, he added. She said union minister Nitin Gadkari had already made it clear that funds would be released once the Punjab government acquired land for the same. “If the Punjab government does not acquire land then it can’t blame the centre for its failure”, she added.
