Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee pays obeisance at Golden Temple Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee pay obeisance at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Tuesday. He was spotted wearing a bright yellow Sikh turban and a traditional kurta pajama at the holy shrine. In a yellow kurta-pajama, he prayed at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple during an almost hour-long visit to the shrine. He was given a 'siropa' (robe of honour) inside the shrine after paying obeisance. One of the world’s fastest bowlers, Lee was in Amritsar to draw attention to the challenges faced by people with profound hearing loss, which affects 466 million people globally. He interacted with patients at Sri Guru Ram Das (SGRD) University of Health Sciences on Monday. I have personally witnessed how an implant takes a person from silence to sound. It is a life changing moment,” he said, while addressing the launch. Raising awareness about the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening (UNHS) programme at the SGPC-run SGRD, Brett Lee said on Monday that the government should play its role in hearing loss screening for newborns. -PTC News
