Girl commits suicide after being scolded and slapped by her father A minor girl committed suicide after she was scolded and slapped by her father at a Samana College when he discovered that she had not been attending her classes for a couple of days. The 15 year old was cremated in a hush by the family, Sadar station house officer (SHO) Narain Singh said. The incident came to light on Monday when police arrested Karamjit Singh (40) of Dhanetha village for abetment to suicide and destruction of evidence. A case was registered on the complaint of the college managing committee. “Karamjit went to Public College, Samana, on August 14 to enquire about her studies to find that his daughter had not attended her classes for some days despite having come from home. An infuriated Karamjit also got her name struck off from the college,” the SHO said. -PTC News
