Gobind Singh Longowal has been elected as the President of SGPC
Govind Singh Longowal, has served as the vice president of Shiromani Akali Dal for the last 10 years, and has now been elected as the President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) After Kirpal Singh Badungar, now Gobind Singh Longowal will be the president of the Shiromani Committee. Gobind Singh Longowal, who has been continuously serving vice president for 10 consecutive years from Shiromani Akali Dal, started his political journey with Sant Harchand Dhahe Longowal. He became MLA from Dhanula in 1985, 1997,2002 and in 2000, he took over as Irrigation Minister in the state of Badal Government.He Became a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. He took the position of the Chairman of Markfed in 1987 and Chairman of District Planning Board of Sangrur in 2009. After the resignation of Congress MLA Arvind Khanna in 2015, Longowal wins, during which he has contributed in his development activities Longowal used the government-funded grants and left no stone unturned to change the layout of the constituency. -PTC News
