Harsimrat lauds Nitin Gadkari for dedicating expressway to Sikh Gurus

Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday thanked Minister for Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari, for assuring to name the new expressway in the honour of Guru Sahiban. The new expressway will connect 5 historic Sikh shrines at Sultanpur Lodhi, Goindwal Sahib, Khadoor Sahib, Tarn Taran and Sri Amritsar Sahib.

She took to Twitter and wrote: “Heartfelt thanks to Nitin Gadkari Ji for assuring to name the new Expressway in the honour of Guru Sahiban. The expressway will connect 5 historic Sikh shrines at Sultanpur Lodhi, Goindwal Sahib, Khadoor Sahib, Tarn Taran & Sri Amritsar Sahib.”

In another tweet, she wrote: “Historic development for Amritsar residents and Sikhs worldwide. Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari Ji has acceded to my request to amend Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway alignment to create a new link between Amritsar and Delhi besides creating a new Sikh circuit connecting 5 major Sikh shrines.”

Meanwhile, Nitin Gadkari took to Twitter and wrote: “The proposed expressway will connect the holy cities of Five Gurus of Shikhism. Sultanpur Lodhi, Khadoor Sahib, Goinwal Sahib, Amritsar and Dera Baba Nanak will be connected via express highway.”

Adding, he wrote: “Finalized the alignment of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway in a review meeting attended by Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh, Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, MoS Hardeep Singh Puri, MoS Dr Jitendra Singh, MP and Ex Punjab State BJP President Shwait Malik, MP Amritsar Gurjeet S Aujla and Ex-Minister Punjab Anil Joshi.”

He added that “As part of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, Greenfield connectivity will be developed to Amritsar from Nakodar via Sultanpur Lodhi, Goindwal sahib and Khadoor Sahib. The road between Amritsar and Gurdaspur will also be developed and made signal free.”
