HC dismisses anticipatory bail plea of Moosewala’s manager Shaganpreet
Mohali, July 18: Justice Anoop Chitkara of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s manager Shaganpreet Singh.
Earlier, the Punjab Police had submitted in the HC that there was sufficient prima facie evidence revealing that Shaganpreet Singh was the “main conspirator” in murder of Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera last year.

Alleging false implication in the case registered at Mataur police station in Mohali in August last year after Vicky Middukhera’s ‘murder’, Shaganpreet Singh had said he was not named in the FIR. Moreover, his role also did not surface during the investigation conducted for eight months.

In its status report placed before Justice Chitkara’s Bench, DSP Sukhnaaz Singh said, “In view of the facts and circumstances, it is evident that there is sufficient prima facie evidence on record which reveals that the petitioner is the main conspirator, who hatched conspiracy with (accused) Gaurav Patial for eliminating Vicky Middukhera.”
In his plea for anticipatory bail, Shaganpreet had also claimed serious threat from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.

Currently, Shaganpreet is in Australia. However, the High Court has issued orders directing that he be provided security when he comes to India. Sidhu Moosewala was killed on May 29.
Shaganpreet is being named in the killing of Akali leader Middukhera. The police claim Shaganpreet gave shelter to the sharpshooters of Middukhera. However, Shaganpreet has been denying the charges.

During interrogation, Lawrence Bishnoi had said Sidhu Moosewala was indirectly involved in the murder of Vicky Middukhera.
