As many as 2,227 cases were registered in Himachal for violations of COVID curfew and lockdown since March 23 while 31,317 challans were issued for not wearing a mask and a fine of Rs 1,24,22,450 imposed. So far, 1,339 police personnel have tested Covid-19 positive, of whom 978 have recovered while one died. 40 fresh Covid-19 cases in Himachal, count mounts to 1,457 - cities -  Hindustan Times DGP Sanjay Kundu said, "The violation of the directions of not wearing a mask and not maintaining social distancing was being monitored by drones and CCTV cameras." The DGP added that directions had been issued to district SPs that any person found not wearing a mask would be liable for arrest without warrant and on conviction would be punishable with imprisonment for a term that may extend up to eight days or a fine of Rs 5,000. The police have also sensitized 3,70,938 persons regarding Covid-19 behavior and 22,665 hoardings and posters had been placed at various locations across the state. -PTC News
