Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the most popular couple in the Hindi film industry, turned heads at IIFA Awards, 2019. During the event, Ranveer Singh was seen carrying Deepika’s veil while entering. While receiving the Best Actor award for the character of Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat, he complimented his wife and announced that his wax statue would be displayed alongside hers at Madame Tussauds.
“My mother-in-law was like, you’ve to work hard too, and we want a statue of you also. Mama, we’re going to London,” Ranveer Singh said. While talking about Deepika Padukone’s statue, Ranveer Singh said, “My wife’s statue is the sexiest of all. I must say Deepika is a perfectionist, so she was very particular about all the time she devoted to getting her statue made.”
Ranveer and Deepika started dating each other in 2012 after they worked together in Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. After this, they appeared together in Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. The duo got married on November 14, 2018.
While expressing his excitement at having his statue alongside Deepika, Ranveer said, “I’m going to figure out my clothes and my pose. It’s going to be you and me baby in Madame Tussauds together. Boom.” Meanwhile, Deepika and Padukone are up for Kapil Dev’s biopic titled, ’83. The duo will portray the real-life couple of Kapil Dev and Romi Bhatia.
