India names 15-man squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2021

India will kick off its ICC T20 World Cup 2021 campaign against arch-rival Pakistan on October 24.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday named a 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021, which is scheduled to be held in October.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that former India Captain MS Dhoni to mentor the team for the T20 World Cup.

Ishan Kishan has been selected in 15-man squad while Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel's inclusion has been surprise. Although Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar have been reserved as standby players but fans were expecting to see Iyer in the squad.

India will kick off its ICC T20 World Cup 2021 campaign against arch-rival Pakistan on October 24.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup will get underway in UAE and Oman from October 17, with the Final set to be played in Dubai on 14 November.

Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.

Standby players – Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.
