India vs West Indies 1st ODI: After defeating the visitors in the three-match T20 series 2-1, Men in Blue will now take on Windies in three-match ODI series. The first ODI match is scheduled to be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Sunday. Virat Kohli, who was named Man of the series for his consistent batting performance, will now be back in the 50-over format.
During the T20 series, West Indies showed some brilliant performance in the first and second T20 match. However, the team collapsed in the final and decider at Mumbai. For India, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were phenomenol throughout the T20 series.
Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal has replaced the injured Shikhar Dhawan in the ODI squad, while Shardul Thakur has been called in as a replacement for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is out with a groin injury.
It is pertinent to mention that Virat Kohli is on the top of the chart in the ODI batting ranking, followed by the Indian opener Rohit Sharma. Hence, these two become the major threat for West Indies.
