New Delhi, March 5: Citing media reports on Indian students allegedly being asked to clean toilets by Indian embassy officials in exchange for evacuation help from conflict-torn Ukraine, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday condemned the incident and described it as an insult to the entire country.

“Such shameful treatment of (Indian) students is an insult to the entire country. This bitter truth of Operation Ganga has shown the real face of Modi government,” the Congress leader tweeted along with a media report alleging that stranded students were asked to clean toilets and whoever does it first would return to India first. The Congress MP has previously blasted the Centre for Operation Ganga, which was initiated to bring Indian people back to India amid ongoing Russian military operations in Ukraine.
