J &K govt bans civilian traffic on Sundays and Wednesdays till May 31 The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday banned civilian traffic alongside forces’ convoy for two days i.e. Sunday and Wednesday on Srinagar National Highway till May 31 to avoid any untoward incident. During these two particular days, the government forces’ convoy will be allowed to proceed from 4 am to 5 pm. The decision came after the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh’s, announcement for not allowing civilian traffic to move alongside the forces’ convoy. He further said that there would be a complete ban on civilian traffic on the National Highway during these two days. Also, this ban would be from Baramulla through Srinagar, Qazigund, Jawahar-Tunnel, Banihal and Ramban till Udhampur.
