PTC Web Desk: The online registration process for civil defence volunteers has officially begun, offering an opportunity for young people, women and other citizens who wish to serve the nation during emergencies and disasters.

Eligible candidates can register through the official Civil Defence portal by visiting https://civildefencewarriors.gov.in/.

Who can apply?

According to Manpreet Singh Randhawa, District Commander, Punjab Home Guards-cum-Additional Controller Civil Defence, Amritsar, every eligible Indian citizen aged 18 years or above can apply for enrolment as a civil defence volunteer.

The entire application process is online. Applicants can register using their mobile number, complete the application form and later track the status of their application through the portal.

Training in disaster management and emergency response

Selected civil defence volunteers receive regular training in several critical areas, including disaster management, first aid, fire safety, search and rescue operations, emergency response and public safety.

The training equips volunteers to assist the administration during natural disasters, emergencies and other crisis situations.

Volunteers play a key role during emergencies

Civil defence volunteers work alongside government agencies during disasters to support rescue operations, provide relief assistance and help ensure public safety.

Officials said these volunteers play a crucial role in strengthening disaster preparedness and community response during emergencies.

Citizens urged to participate

District Commander Manpreet Singh Randhawa has appealed to eligible citizens to come forward and register in large numbers to contribute towards national service. For additional information, interested applicants can contact their nearest Civil Defence office or local Civil Defence officials and volunteers.
