PPSC announces date for Punjab Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2025; over 85,000 applications received for 322 posts

PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has officially declared that the Preliminary Examination for the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination (PSCSCCE)-2025 will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

The long-awaited recruitment notification for 322 posts under PSCSCCE-2025 was released on January 3, 2025, the last working day of former chairman Jatinder Singh Aulakh. The examination is being conducted to fill various high-ranking posts, including Punjab Civil Service (Executive Branch), Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tehsildar, Excise and Taxation Officer, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Labour-cum-Conciliation Officer, Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Food and Civil Supplies Officer, Employment Generation and Skill Development Officer, and Deputy Superintendent of Jails (Grade-II)/District Probation Officer.


Confirming the schedule, PPSC chairman Major General Vinayak Saini, SM, VSM (retd) said, “The examination will be conducted in a transparent and fair manner. We have received approximately 85,000 applications for the 322 advertised vacancies.”

On the topic of vacant commission member posts, he said , “I have been informed that the selection process for new members is underway, and appointments will be made shortly.” Currently, the commission comprises one chairman and one member, Harmohan Kaur Sandhu, whose term is set to conclude on August 19, 2025.

Major General Saini was appointed as PPSC chairman on May 7 by the Punjab Government.
