Joe Biden appoints Indian-American Mala Adiga as Policy Director of incoming First Lady
Joe Biden 2020 campaign: In a major development, the US President-elect Joe Biden has appointed Indian-American Mala Adiga as the policy director of his wife Jill Biden as the incoming First Lady focuses on education.
Jill Biden, reportedly, is planning to continue teaching community college classes. Indian-American Mala Adiga was a senior adviser to Jill and the senior policy adviser for Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign.
Previously, Adiga has worked for the Biden Foundation as the director for higher education and military families.

During Obama’s administration, Mala was the deputy assistant secretary of state and a senior adviser to the ambassador-at-large.
CNN reported that the future First Lady Jill Biden’s Policy Director will be Mala Adiga. She will work for a First Lady who said that she intends to prioritize education and military families.
Joe Biden on Friday announced that another round of White House staff positions would be filled by longtime aides to the Bidens.

Louisa Terrell, who was Executive Director for the Biden Foundation, will become Director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs.
Carlos Elizondo, who was social secretary for Jill during Barack Obama's administration, will be the White House Social Secretary.
Ambassador Cathy Russell will take over the role of Director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, the report added.
