Kartarpur Corridor to open for pilgrims today

The much-awaited Kartarpur Corridor connecting Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur will be formally open for pilgrims on Saturday. The initiative has been taken ahead of 550th birth anniversary of Sikhism founder Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, on November 12. Meanwhile, India and Pakistan will hold a separate ceremonies on either side of the border to inaugurate the corridor. It will facilitate pilgrims to visit the final resting place of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. As per report, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, and several ministers, MPs and MLAs from Punjab will travel to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib through the Kartarpur Corridor. https://www.ptcnews.tv/punjab-declares-holiday-in-gurdaspur-kapurthala-and-amritsar-on-november-9-guru-nanak-dev-ji/ Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Harpreet Singh will lead the Indian delegation as the religious leader. Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the passenger terminal building, also known as Integrated Check Post, where pilgrims will get clearance to travel through the corridor. On the other hand, Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan will also inaugurate the Kartarpur corridor, from Pakistani side. India and Pakistan signed an agreement on October 24. -PTC News
