Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) batsman Karun Nair had tested positive for the novel coronavirus around two weeks ago. However, he has recovered fully and is scheduled to depart to the UAE later this month for IPL 2020.
Karun Nair, like other cricketers, has been confined to home with all cricketing action suspended in India in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
As per the guidelines issued by the BCCI to all eight teams, Karun Nair will be tested by the franchise before departure to the UAE.
As per the guidelines, a player will be tested twice at least before the departure and will be allowed to travel only is both the tests are negative. The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin in the UAE from September 19.
The matches will be played without spectators and all eight teams will be staying in a bio-secure bubble.
