Kharge calls for united opposition to take on BJP

New Delhi, April 4: Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge called for unity among the Opposition parties on Monday, saying that the subject of the leadership of such a front shouldn't be an issue. Reacting to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar's statement that he's not interested to be the chairperson of the UPA, the Congress leader said, "It is not the issue of who will become what, all party and party leaders have to be united to fight against the BJP. By raising the issue of who will be the chairperson of the UPA, an attempt is being made to dilute the unity of the opposition parties against the BJP." The Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha also stated that they will bring up the issue of rising inflation and price hikes in petrol and diesel in Parliament.
