IPL 2020 playoffs race, KXIP vs DC: With a magnificent win over Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets on Tuesday, Kings XI Punjab has kept its playoffs hopes alive. Nicholas Pooran hammered a ferocious half-century, while for DC, Shikhar Dhawan‘s second consistent century goes in vain.
Delhi Capital won the toss and elected to bat first. While batting first, Delhi Capitals lost the first wicket in the form of Prithvi Shaw. Afterward, the skipper Shreyas Iyer along with Shikhar Dhawan made a partnership. However, Iyer was also dismissed in the 9th over.
Apart from these players, Rishabh Pant, Marcus Stoinis, and Shimron Hetmyer scored 14, 9, and 10 runs, respectively. Shikhar Dhawan played an unbeaten inning of 106 runs off 61 balls including 12 boundaries and 3 sixes.
While chasing 165 during KXIP vs DC, Kings XI Punjab three wickets, three big fishes, in the first powerplay. KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, and Mayank Agarwal scored 15, 19, and 5 runs, respectively.
After powerplay and losing three wickets, Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Maxwell took the charge. Pooran smashed a half-century scoring 53 runs off 28 balls while Maxwell scored 32 runs off 24 balls.
Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda and James Neeshan finished the match. Hooda scored 15 runs off 22 balls but James Neesham scored 10 runs off 8 balls including 1 six.
With this, Punjab has reached the fifth spot in the IPL 2020 points table with 8 points. KXIP is in the race where all the matches are do-and-die for them as it will have to win all the matches to make it to IPL 2020 playoffs.
