Majithia asks Sidhu to tell which side of the fence he is on

Former minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia today asked Congress minister Navjot Sidhu to tell the nation which side of the fence he was on – India or Pakistan and whether he would now ask the Pakistan army chief whom he hugged and his “friend” Imran Khan why they were killing Indian soldiers on the international border and exporting terror into India. Replying to queries from newsmen as part of a press conference in Chandigarh, Mr Bikram Majithia said now when the spokesman for the Pakistan foreign ministry had disclosed that no official communication had been sent to India for opening of the Kartarpur corridor, Sidhu should tell the people why he constantly asserted that Pakistan was right and India was wrong for not reciprocating a gesture which was never made. “You must now come clean and tell why you became a mouthpiece for the Pak army general and the ISI and gave the impression that Pakistan was ready to open the corridor but India was coming in the way”.. Asking Sidhu to read the statement of the Pak spokesman today who while denying his government had sent any communication to open the Kartarpur corridor to India, accused Indian “occupying” forces of committing barbaric acts in Jammu and Kashmir. “Sidhu should now tell whether he in agreement with Pakistan even now especially when barbarity was committed on an Indian soldier only yesterday on the line of control. Can he face soldier Narinder Kumar’s family and the Sikh community after the lies and deceit he has committed in the name of Guru Nanak Dev ji?” he asked. Mr Majithia said the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi should now also tell whether they supported the cheap manner in which Sidhu lied and misled the Sikh community by claiming that Pakistan would open the Kartarpur corridor when the nation condemned him for hugging Pak General Qamar Javed Bajwa. He said killings on the international border had increased ever since Sidhu hugged the Pak General and presently there was a high alert on the line of control. “Rahul Gandhi should tell people whether he would continue to stand with Sidhu or take the side of the martyr families who feel violated after this shocking behavior by a cabinet minister”. He said it was important for Rahul to come up with answers as it was his grand-father who had failed to fight for the rights of Punjab and allowed Sri Kartarpur Sahib to remain in Pakistan. Mr Majithia said now with authorities including Union External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and the official spokesman of the Pak foreign ministry making it official that there was no formal communication from Pakistan to India about the Kartarpur corridor, Sidhu had nowhere to run. “He must face up to the fact that he blatantly lied to cover up the despicable act of hugging the Pak army chief and apologize to the people of the country and particularly the Sikh community for playing with their sentiments on such a sensitive issue”. The Akali leader said as far as the SAD and Sikh institutions were concerned they would continue with their efforts to get the Kartarpur corridor opened. “It is part of our ardas and we are committed to continue with efforts to ensure easy access to Sikh pilgrims to Kartarpur”
