Manesar land deal: CBI files chargesheet against Bhupinder Singh Hooda and others

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday filed a chargesheet against 34 accused in the Manesar land deal in the Panchkula CBI court. The list of accused included former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chattar Singh, SS Dhillon, ML Tayal and Atul Bansal, promoter of Gurgaon-based real estate company ABW Builders. Two almirahs full of papers were brought by the CBI investigating officer from Delhi to file the chargesheet. Manesar land deal: CBI files chargesheet in Panchkula CBI court The land whose market value at that time was more than Rs 1,600 crore was allegedly purchased for Rs 100 crore. A case was registered in September 2015 on the allegations that private builders in conspiracy with unidentified public servants of the Haryana government had bought around 400 acres of land from farmers and landowners of Manesar, Naurangpur and Lakhnoula villages in Gurugram district. The land was bought at throwaway prices, showing the threat of acquisition by the government, during the period from August 27, 2004 to August 24, 2007. -PTC News
