Mohali International Airport: 6 Crore gold seized from father-son duo
The Mohali police made the biggest gold seizure till date at the international airport.
A father-son duo, identified as Dhanraj Meenawala and Rajesh Meenawala landed here with gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 6 crore.
The airport SHO, Inspector HS Bal, said, “The duo claimed that they were carrying the gold for displaying it in exhibitions.” However, the police had secret information about the gold and nabbed them as soon as they landed at the airport. They started their journey from Mumbai, stopped at Hyderabad and then came to Chandigarh.
