Divulging the details about it DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav took to twitter and wrote, “In a major breakthrough Punjab Police, in a Joint Operation with Central Agency & ATS Maharashtra, has apprehended Charat Singh, main accused in RPG attack at Intel HQs Mohali, Punjab from Mumbai today morning. He is key operative & associate of Canada-based BKI terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa.
Punjab Police India will strive to make the state crime-free as per vision of CM Bhagwant Mann.”
Reportedly, Charat Singh did a recce before the May 9 attack and was vital in providing logistical support and arranging RPG and an AK-47 rifle. In May, the Central Intelligence Agencies had found the role of suspected overground workers of Khalistani extremists group associated with Pakistan-based terrorist groups in the Mohali blast. On the night of May 9, a minor blast occurred outside the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali where no casualty or loss of life was reported.
