Amid one of the most talked about controversial films- Nanak Shah Fakir and its release, Akal Takht Sahib today excommunicated the director of the film Harinder Singh Sikka from the Panth, here on Thursday.
Harinder Singh Sikka has been excluded from the from community for violating its diktat.
When ignoring Akal Takht Sahib, Harinder Singh resorted to seek permission for the release of the controversial film from the court.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had called a meeting of five Sikh Jathedars on Thursday to take deliberate on producer Harinder Sikka’s refusal to abide by orders of Akal Takht to withdraw his movie Nanak Shah Fakir from cinemas.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had ‘imposed ban’ on upcoming Hindi Movie Nanak Shah Fakir day on April 9.
The apex court had earlier cleared decks for the release of upcoming film Nanak Shah Fakir. The film is scheduled to release on April 13. The SC also said that it’s the duty of all states to maintain law and order and ensure release of film Nanak Shah Fakir without any disturbances.
