80 injured after bridge collapses in Udhampur during Baisakhi celebrations
Udhampur Bridge Collapse: At least 80 people have been injured after a footbridge collapsed in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir during Baisakhi celebrations on Friday.
The incident took place at Beni Sangam in Bain village in Chenani Block of Udhampur. Video of the incident circulated on social media showed chaos at the site of the accident.

Police and other teams immediately reached the site and began the rescue operation, said Dr Vinod, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur. The injured were taken to the hospitals, with 20-25 being critically injured according to Chenani Municipality Chairman Manik Gupta.

6-7 people have been referred to the District Hospital, and the rest are being looked after by medical staff in Chenani. The rescue operation is still underway.
